£49,000-a-week man Jürgen Klopp wants Liverpool to sign is going nowhere

Earlier this year, German outlet Bild claimed that Jürgen Klopp had asked Liverpool to bring Jude Bellingham to the Premier League.

The 54-year-old has supposedly become fixated on the 18-year-old as a result of his stunning performances for Borussia Dortmund.

So far this season, Bellingham has scored six goals in 43 appearances for the German giants, while also providing 13 assists.

Now, however, the £49,000-a-week teenager has said some things about his future which will not please Klopp.

What’s the story?

Well, Bellingham has been speaking to RNBVB, who quote him as saying: “I will be here at Borussia Dortmund next season. I’m ready. The only future I’m thinking about is the next game with Dortmund.”

Clearly, it doesn’t sound as if Liverpool will be able to sign the England international – not this summer, at least.

While that will upset Klopp, it had already been said that Borussia Dortmund would not sell Erling Haaland and Bellingham in the same summer.

The Norway international has since joined Manchester City in a deal worth £51.2m, so it seems the Bundesliga side weren’t lying.

Liverpool must sign Jude Bellingham one day

Whether it’s the summer of 2023, or the summer of 2024, Liverpool must get their hands on Bellingham, before he ends up at Real Madrid or someplace else – the Spanish giants are believed to be interested.

The 18-year-old has already amassed 133 appearances in senior football, while also racking up 12 caps for England, which is phenomenal for a player so young.

Putting age aside for a moment, he is already among the best midfielders in Europe, and is someone who would have a transformative impact on Liverpool, like Alisson and Virgil van Dijk provided.

After all, the move would also come with Steven Gerrard’s seal of approval – the Aston Villa boss has already revealed his admiration for the wonderkid.

Whenever Bellingham leaves Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool have to be at the front of the queue – players like him certainly don’t come around often.
