On November 29, 2012, I tried asking the Mayor of Wilkes-Barre a question and shot some of the most telling video ever when it comes to the “elite” attitudes of the politicians and how it’s okay to talk to Journalists that they know have bosses. Even if I wasn’t seen as a reporter, is this how the Mayor of a city should treat ANYBODY ?
On the day that Hurricane Sandy was suppose to clean our clock here in NorthEastern PA, the Wilkes-Barre city council granted all kinds of emergency powers to now Mayor Tom Leighton. (To see the story click here). NEPA has dealt w/ major natural disasters over the decades and never needed something so draconian. So why now ? That’s what I want to know as well as Steve Corbett of WILK and many others.
June 28, 2012, Matt Cartwright and the Mayor of Wilkes-Barre Tom Leighton were at a small press conference with some other Democrats at 9:30AM. I was there to ask the Mayor of W-B some questions about the secret meeting he held violating the sunshine act. I never met Matt Cartwright, but he is often on “news” talk radio saying how accessible he is to the people, well I put that to the test today. You be the judge.
